Details
The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is an internationally renowned choral ensemble, praised for its virtuosity and sonic brilliance by The New York Times. Under the direction of its founder and artistic director, Francisco J. Núñez, and creative director Elizabeth Núñez, YPC supports more than 2,000 young people each year, representing every borough of New York City. It offers children and youth from all cultural and economic backgrounds a unique program of music education and choral performance that opens pathways to success through the arts. Known for its wide-ranging repertoire—including classical, gospel, jazz, pop, and contemporary music—YPC has commissioned hundreds of works from both emerging and established composers.
At the Petit Palau, they will present an eclectic program featuring original works and arrangements of current and popular songs, such as Aldapeko, a traditional Basque song that will be performed by the Coros Infantil y Juvenil de Palau Vincles (Children’s and Youth Choirs of Palau Vincles), who have been invited to open the concert. In the realm of classical music, the American choir will sing the "Credo" from Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D Major, K. 194.
