From the darkness to the light

The adventure

The night and the day, the light and the darkness, the smile and the crying, the sunrise and the twilight. All worlds have a place in the music of Gustav Mahler, one of the great composers of universal history.
With this concert-show we will learn to contemplate, listen to and marvel at the infinite beauty of their songs, which from the beginning will become the musical engine of a new sound universe.

Goals

  • Learn to enjoy different musical excerpts from Mahler’s work through conscious listening.
  • Listen to a range of instruments and timbral effects.
  • Construct a personal narrative based on the emotions and sensations that each listener experiences throughout the concert.
  • Gain an intuitive understanding of the historical context in which Gustav Mahler lived and the influence it had on his work.
