Lecture by Carlos Calderón around the concert of Palau 100: "Dudamel & Fourth de Mahler"

Golda Schultz, soprano
Mahler Chamber Orchestra

Gustavo Dudamel, conductor

PROGRAM:
F. SCHUBERT:  Symphony no. 3, in Re major, D. 200
G. MAHLER:  Symphony no. 4, in Do major

After his first three symphonies, Mahler suddenly passes the complexity to maximum simplicity. Thus in the Fourth, with the children's vision of the celestial life, it presents a more lyrical and near music, far from the dramatic nature of previous and later symphonies. Dudamel, who is an important Mahlaria, will offer an analytical, transparent and poetic reading.
