Guillem Batllori & Joaquim Font

—Songs by Lang, Beethoven, Müller-Hermann, Poulenc, Puig-Roget, Toldrà and Pagès Corella

Notice

Concert surtitled in Catalan.

In collaboration with the Franz Schubert Association of Barcelona and the National Center for Musical Diffusion

Details

The programme is structured around three settings. The first is German: alongside Beethoven and his cycle An die ferne Geliebte, we will hear works by Josephine Lang and Johanna Müller-Hermann; among other songs, we will listen to the settings both composers made of the same Goethe poem, An die Entfernte. The French setting features Poulenc in his most voyou vein with the Chansons gaillardes, and Henriette Puig-Roget with her songs on poems by Paul Fort, which share the same irreverent spirit. Finally, the Catalan setting brings together Eduard Toldrà and Xavier Pagès Corella: the former with three of his best-known songs, on poems by Joan Maragall, and the latter with two early works.
