The Choir

A total of 53 boys and girls aged between 11 16 give life to the Cor Infantil de l'Orfeó Català. The demands of belonging to this choir are increased by the fact that it is the singers themselves who take responsibility for attending rehearsals, activities and concerts.

The Cor Infantil offers boys and girls the chance to discover and sing for the first time the symphonic-choral repertoire, as well as an artistic and musical level recognised by institutions who often ask for singers from the choir as soloists for their productions.

These are five years of learning in which the singers receive more individualised voice training through small-group sessions involving partial rehearsals which enrich the quality of the choir, and by attending classes in musical language in order to learn to read sheet music fluently.

The choir's concert programme includes performances at the Palau de la Música Catalana and in different towns and cities and exchanges with other ensembles in the country and abroad, enabling its members to travel and enrich themselves from other realities. The Cor Infantil de l'Orfeó Català, an attractive, diverse group, is the springboard from which the boys and girls can, at the age of 16, pass into the Cor Jove or the Cor de Noies de l'Orfeó Català.
