The worlds of Lluís Domènech i Montaner
DOMÈNECH I MONTANER YEAR
The adventure
Drawing on the architectural and musical universe of one of the great intellectuals of Catalan Modernisme, whose death centenary we commemorated in 2023, we will take a journey through the history of music and recreate, through mapping projections, several emblematic spaces from the work of Domènech i Montaner, a great music lover and one of Catalonia’s most internationally renowned architects.
As a historian and humanist politician committed to his country, Domènech i Montaner found sources of inspiration in medieval buildings such as the monastery of Poblet, and also rediscovered some of the most important churches of Catalan Romanesque art, such as the church of Sant Climent de Taüll, in the Boí Valley.
