American pianist Claire Huangci makes her debut at the Palau de la Música Catalana with a programme built around Chopin’s four Ballades, which she brings into dialogue with a range of very different musical worlds. Renowned for her extraordinary technique and a curiosity that has led her to explore repertoire beyond the core piano canon, Huangci intersperses the Polish composer’s four masterpieces with music by Fanny Hensel and Florence Price, two composers who in recent decades have reclaimed their rightful place in music history.
