The Camerata Penedès, with Lorenza Borrani as concertmaster and director, presents a program that combines classical and contemporary music. On one hand, the string orchestra version of Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14, Op. 131, in an arrangement by Greek pianist and conductor Dmitri Mitropoulos, mentor of the legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein, who frequently programmed it with the world’s leading orchestras. In its symphonic version, Beethoven’s Quartet takes on remarkable intensity and depth. On the other hand, the program includes the premiere of a new work by Raquel García-Tomás, commissioned by Camerata Penedès. García-Tomás, a Catalan composer awarded the National Music Prize in 2024, was the guest composer at the Palau during the 2024–25 season. A concert within the Tardes al Palau cycle that brings together historical mastery and contemporary innovation.
