On the 40th anniversary of the Perelada Festival and within the tour of the 150th anniversary of Bayreuth Festival, Barcelona will raise as a musical centre of Europe.
The modernist venue of the Palau de la Música Catalana is once again the stage of an historical musical milestone. The Bayreuth Festival Orchestra leaves its emblematic home to come to Barcelona on August 29th 2026 to perform a selection of Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung. Under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado and the voices of Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt and Nicholas Brownlee, delighting us with immortal scenes from the history of art: the entrance of gods in Valhalla, Wotan’s farewell, the death of Siegfried... A date for the history that will enlighten the World Heritage Site by UNESCO with another monument, in this case, a musical one.
