Details
The Balthasar Neumann Orchestra and the Cor Jove of the Orfeó Català, under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock, pay tribute to the English Handel with a program that combines motets, anthems, and opera excerpts, alongside works by masters of the early English Baroque such as Blow and Purcell.
The centerpiece of the concert is Armida e Rinaldo, a pasticcio opera created by Thomas Hengelbrock from arias and excerpts from various Handel operas. An evening that reveals Handel’s timeless strength and the vitality with which he continues to speak to us today.
This concert is part of the Barcelona Obertura Ciutat de Clàssica festival, which is held from 5 to 31 March 2026 in various auditoriums and palces in the city.
