Violinist Roberts Balanas presents a striking programme at the Petit Palau that breaks down the boundaries between periods, styles and musical languages. A journey that begins with the medieval music of the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat and reaches Radiohead, Björk and Sílvia Pérez Cruz, taking in Steve Reich’s hypnotic minimalism and contemporary creation along the way.

With a single violin and electronics as his ally, Balanas explores counterpoint not only as a musical technique, but also as a play of contrasts, layers and dialogues between musical worlds that may at first seem far apart.
