Patricia Kopatchinskaja & Fazil Say

Patricia Kopatchinskaja & Fazil Say
—Szymanowski, Say, Kopatchinskaja and Beethoven
Details
Two such distinctive artistic voices as Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Fazil Say come together at the Palau to share an approach to music defined by freedom, curiosity and intense interpretative commitment. The Moldovan violinist and Turkish pianist are also composers, a dual perspective that informs their approach to the works they perform and makes the dialogue between them one of the great attractions of this recital.
The concert has Beethoven as its destination, as the bicentenary of his death approaches, with the celebrated Kreutzer Sonata, one of the most demanding and ambitious works ever written for violin and piano. Kopatchinskaja and Say broaden the perspective, however, with music by Szymanowski and works of their own, tracing a journey that spans more than two centuries of music. An opportunity to experience two performers with strong artistic identities not only interpreting the repertoire, but also engaging with it through their own experience as composers.
