Eduard Iniesta’s The Odyssey does not recount in detail the adventures of Ulysses and his soldiers on their journey back to the island of Ithaca after the Trojan War; nor does it tell of the trials and difficulties endured before achieving a goal; nor does it tell the odysseys of those who risk their lives to emigrate to another country, dreaming of a better future. It is none of these things, and yet, at the same time, it is all of them. Because this Odyssey speaks, among other things, of love, perseverance, fear, resilience, temptation, purity, beauty and adversity. All of these are themes present in Homer’s Odyssey and in every anonymous odyssey. For what is life if not love, resilience, fear, beauty…? Everyone, after all, lives their own odyssey.

The programme is completed by The Colours of the Sea, with music by Eduard Iniesta and lyrics by Piti Español. One day, the composer cast his net into the sea and, among fish and seaweed, found these songs. The Colours of the Sea speaks to us of this sea of colours and of the Mediterranean that surrounds us and that we love so deeply.
