Details
The Palau Piano series opens with a tribute to a key figure in 20th-century piano performance: Ricard Viñes, the Catalan pianist who premiered works by Debussy, Ravel, and Satie, and who defined an era with his sensitivity and modern spirit. Marking the 150th anniversary of his birth—an occasion that will be present throughout the Palau’s season—Lluís Rodríguez-Salvà honours his legacy with a programme that flows through the impressionist waters of Debussy and Ravel —featuring pieces such as Jeux d’eau, Feux d’artifice, and La cathédrale engloutie— and culminates in the evocative power of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. A recital that intertwines refinement and character, memory and creation, from the very heart of the piano tradition.
