Program

Where Are We

Details

After the celebrated reunion last year with his former colleagues Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Brian Blade, Joshua Redman returns to our festival to present his new project, Where Are We, an album that should appear in September 2023 in which the saxophonist collaborates for the first time with a vocalist, the Californian Gabrielle Cavassa. "The concept of Where Are We is very simple" - Redman himself has explained -: "each song on the album is about, or refers to, a geographically specific place in the United States. For example, Streets of Philadelphia (Bruce Springsteen), Going to Chicago (Count Basie), Manhattan (Rodgers & Hart) and Alabama (John Coltrane)". So, Redman continues, in a way this is an album "about" America, at once a celebration and a critique. A new step in a career that, year after year, relocates Redman at the center of contemporary jazz created with a desire to endure over time.

IMPORTANT: Minors under 16 years of age may only access the venue accompanied by their father, mother or legal guardian. It is essential to present the Responsibility Sheet (see attached documents) duly printed and completed.
