Ian Koziara & Bradley Moore

Ian Koziara & Bradley Moore
—Songs by Kaprálová, Poulenc, Schreker, Wolf and Zemlinsky
Details
The first half of the programme brings together Poulenc and the Czech composer Vítězslava Kaprálová, who was based in Paris during the interwar period. From Poulenc, we will hear one of his best-known song cycles, Tel jour telle nuit, setting poems by Paul Éluard, while Kaprálová will be represented, among other songs, by her Op. 4, which contrasts the brightness of dawn with a nocturnal scene. In the second half of the programme, Wolf will be heard alongside Alexander von Zemlinsky and Franz Schreker, composers whom the Nazi regime consigned to obscurity for decades.
