Helsinki Baroque Orchestra
—Harpsichord concertos by Bach
Details
The harpsichord takes centre stage with two performers particularly renowned for their expertise in historical repertoire: Pierre Hantaï and Aapo Häkkinen. The two specialists join forces with the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, a highly regarded ensemble on today’s Baroque scene, to revisit Bach’s Harpsichord Concertos, true marvels of invention, virtuosity and instrumental dialogue.
The programme brings together the concertos BWV 1060-1062, works that allow us to hear the harpsichord not only as a solo instrument, but in constant dialogue with the orchestra and between the keyboards themselves. An opportunity to rediscover one of the most brilliant facets of Bach’s instrumental music with performers who have a profound understanding of his musical language.
