Helena Ressurreiçao & Mar Compte
—Lied
Details
Portuguese mezzo-soprano Helena Ressurreição and pianist Mar Compte, two young performers with close ties to the world of Lied, come together for a recital that places words at the heart of the musical experience. Regular collaborators with LIFE Victoria and specialists in this repertoire, they share an approach to song in which voice and piano shape the narrative together, with poetry as their starting point.
The recital focuses particularly on French mélodie, a world of subtlety, colour and expression that offers the chance to discover some of the most delicate works in the vocal repertoire. From Ravel, Fauré and Debussy to Lili Boulanger and Pauline Viardot, the programme also establishes connections with Falla and Pau Casals, culminating in El rossinyol, a traditional Catalan song closely associated with Victoria de los Ángeles. An invitation to experience Lied at its most intimate, where every inflection of the voice, every word and every gesture at the piano contributes to telling a story.
