The Orfeó Català–Palau de la Música Foundation and the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation share the goal of preserving and promoting two iconic works of Catalan Modernisme, as well as the mission of improving people’s lives through culture—whether via concerts and exhibitions or through their respective social projects.

Over the past two years, both institutions have built bridges to connect their activities in an interdisciplinary context. In this way, artworks from temporary exhibitions at La Pedrera have extended beyond Gaudí’s building and found a showcase within the spaces of the Palau de la Música Catalana, enhanced by their connection to music.

Indeed, the Palau not only occasionally hosts visual artworks, but also offers musical inspiration, establishing synergies between its concert programme and the exhibitions at La Pedrera. La música callada by Mompou in dialogue with the work of Jaume Plensa; Pascal Comelade’s music resonating with Miquel Barceló’s art; Antonio López’s hyperrealist portraits of contemporary Madrid conversing with zarzuela; and more recently, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation’s participation in commissioning a new piece by Raquel García-Tomás, guest composer of the Palau de la Música.

This season, the Palau will also engage in dialogue with La Pedrera’s exhibitions dedicated to Cristina Iglesias in autumn 2025, and to the French post-impressionist group the Nabis in spring 2026, through a series of concerts.
