Transparence and sustainability
Certificates
Environmental statement
Annually, we provide the public and other interested parties with environmental information regarding the impact and environmental behavior of our organization.
EMAS Certificate
We are certified in the evaluation and improvement of the environmental behavior of the Palau, as well as in the dissemination of information to interested parties.
ISO 14001 Certificate
We certify our environmental commitment as an essential part of the development of our activity.
Carbon footprint
We are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this regard, we are part of the Voluntary Agreements Program for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO). Currently, the Palau holds the Carbon Neutral Footprint Certificate for Scope 1 and 2, and we are working to achieve Scope 3 as well.
Biosphere certificate
For having successfully demonstrated compliance with the actions of Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda.
Commitment to the ODS

Towards carbon-neutral footprint
Calculation-reduction-offset: Once the carbon footprint is calculated, work is done on its reduction (improvements in energy efficiency, waste management, reduction of paper and plastics, etc.) with the ultimate goal of achieving a zero carbon footprint. The Palau de la Música Catalana was the first concert hall to achieve accreditation of CO₂ emissions neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 at the Catalan and Spanish state level. Scope 1 greenhouse gases are those generated directly by the activity carried out there, and Scope 2 refers to the electricity it consumes from the grid. Emissions of these types that could not be reduced have been offset through adherence to the Voluntary Compensation Program of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Currently, work is underway to also achieve neutrality for Scope 3 emissions, all those focused on emission sources more external to the organization, such as those in the supply chain.
Green energy
All electricity consumed at the Palau de la Música Catalana is generated entirely from renewable energy sources. This project aligns with the firm objective of reducing the carbon footprint.
Photovoltaic panels
The Palau de la Música Catalana, following its objectives of efficiency, sustainability, and respect for the environment, is in the process of installing photovoltaic energy panels.
Key points of the proposal: To use an inexhaustible, renewable, clean, and safe resource in order to reduce CO2 emissions and energy billing costs.
