Elisabeth Leonskaja

Sonates by Brahms

Details

Few pianists have built as strong a bond with the Palau de la Música Catalana audience as Elisabeth Leonskaja. A leading artist, loyal interpreter, and essential voice of European pianism, the Georgian pianist returns to the modernist hall to take on a challenge of great emotional and artistic intensity: the three piano sonatas by Johannes Brahms. Composed when the German genius was still very young, these works already contain all the passion, ambition, and depth that would define his career. Leonskaja, with her natural authority and an expressiveness free of any artifice, invites us on a journey to the heart of Romanticism. A major event with a living legend of the piano.

This concert is part of the Barcelona Obertura Ciutat de Clàssica festival, which is held from 5 to 31 March 2026 in various auditoriums and palces in the city.
