Dani Espasa & Juan de la Rubia

Dani Espasa & Juan de la Rubia
—Concertos for two keyboards by Antoni Soler
Details
Dani Espasa and Juan de la Rubia, two leading keyboard players, come together for the first time in a project of this scale. Two musicians who greatly admire one another and share a particularly free and creative approach to music, specialists in harpsichord and organ, but also improvisers, creators and musicians with an open-minded outlook. The Palau de la Música Catalana brings them together to perform Antoni Soler’s Six Concertos for Two Keyboards, with the freedom to choose the instruments best suited to the expressive character of each work.
The concert is part of the Palau’s project to revive the figure and music of Antoni Soler this season, a heritage composer and one of the leading personalities in eighteenth-century keyboard music. His concertos are entrusted here to two performers with strong individual artistic identities, in an encounter conceived not only to recover this repertoire, but to bring it to life from a fresh and contemporary perspective.
