Cosmos Quartet

Helena Satué, Bernat Prat, Lara Fernández and Oriol Prat are the members of the Cosmos Quartet, one of the emerging chamber formations that currently stands out the most on the national scene and that for two seasons has developed a musical residency at the Palau with great success that it closes now, in 2024.

This year the Cosmos Quartet will finish the complete compositions for string quartet by Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Anton Webern, three key authors in the evolution of the compositional form of the string quartet. The Catalan group will interpret the Rondó and the Langsamer Satz by Anton Webern; the String Quartet no. 2, in F major, op. 41 by Robert Schumann and String Quartet no. 2, in A minor, op. 51 by Johannes Brahms, and will complete the programs with the String Quartet no. 5, Sz. 102 by Bartók and String Quartet no. 2 in C major, op. 36 by Benjamin Britten. As a climax, the Cosmos Quartet will celebrate its tenth birthday and farewell as a resident with a group of musician friends with whom they will perform the Octets by Franz Schubert and Jörg Widmann.
