Cosmos Quartet & Alejandro Escuer

—Ortiz, Beach and Schubert

Details

The Cosmos Quartet opens the Petit Palau Cambra series with a programme of high expressive intensity and transatlantic collaboration. Joined by Mexican flautist Alejandro Escuer—a leading figure in contemporary Latin American music—they perform two works full of contrasts and nuances: Exilios by Gabriela Ortiz, a vibrant piece on uprooting, and the refined Theme and Variations by Amy Beach. The programme concludes with the celebrated quartet Death and the Maiden by Schubert, a masterpiece of chamber literature that challenges the cohesion and expressive power of any ensemble.

With funding from the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the Cultural Capital of Barcelona promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Barcelona City Council.
