Details
The Cor Jove of the Orfeó Català, under the direction of Pablo Larraz, presents a program dedicated to sacred music for choir and organ, featuring the renowned organist Joan Seguí —winner of the 2018 Primer Palau Prize— and soprano Ulrike Haller.
The concert offers a journey through the history of the motet and the anthem, from the Baroque to the Romantic period, with works by Schütz, Purcell, Händel, Bach, Wesley, and Mendelssohn. A collection of spiritually beautiful pieces that evoke prayer and praise to God through choral music. Among the most moving moments is Hör mein Bitten by Felix Mendelssohn, a dialogue between the solo voice and the choir that rises like a collective prayer, as well as organ interludes performed by Joan Seguí, current principal organist at Santa Maria del Mar.
An opportunity to enjoy the pure and expressive sound of the Cor Jove of the Orfeó Català, an ensemble with an educational purpose that is part of the Escola Coral del Palau and represents the young and renewing spirit of the institution.
