The Cor de Noies de l’Orfeó Català celebrates its 25th anniversary with a very special concert that brings together the ensemble’s current members and around sixty former singers. An intergenerational gathering that not only reflects on the journey so far, but also highlights the continuity of a choral project that has become a benchmark for young voices in the country.
Under the direction of Montserrat Meneses, the group will offer a musical journey spanning three centuries, from sacred works to folk songs, with special attention to pieces by Catalan composers such as Frederic Mompou, Enric Morera and Pau Casals. The programme also includes In monte Oliveti by Giovanni Battista Martini, the first work ever performed by the choir twenty-five years ago, clearly aiming to build bridges between past and present.
With a clear, expressive and richly nuanced sound, the Cor de Noies stands out for its flexibility and communicative strength. The concert will showcase this versatility, with music complemented by stage elements and gesture, a distinctive hallmark of the ensemble. A choral celebration that embraces music as a shared life experience and invites the audience to be carried away by the sensitivity of voices that look to the future with deep roots and renewed enthusiasm.
