Cantúria Cantada by Carles Santos

Cantúria Cantada by Carles Santos
—Cor de Cambra del Palau & Júlia Sesé
Details
The Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana pays tribute to Carles Santos, one of the most distinctive figures in contemporary music, with a revival of Cantúria Cantada, a performance that brings together music, theatre and movement. The production forms part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Teatre Lliure, an institution closely associated with the composer from Vinaròs, whose work left a lasting mark on avant-garde musical theatre. Cantúria Cantada brings together choral excerpts from several productions created by Santos between 1981 and 2010, offering a retrospective of his unconventional artistic world, characterised by experimentation, provocation and humour. Conducted by Júlia Sesé, the Cor de Cambra takes on the challenge of combining demanding vocal performance with theatrical expression and choreography, bringing back a work that embodies Santos’s creative freedom and unmistakable artistic personality.
