Agnes Jonas is a London-based illustrator and artist. Her work is based on abstract compositions that transform botanical and organic forms into evocative visual universes, often built around the contrast between light and shadow, lightness and density.

His work is inspired by music, movement, nature and science – especially astronomy – and explores the idea of fragility, both physical and emotional. He works primarily with digital media, allowing pieces to evolve organically from an initial idea. His work has been published in international media, such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Nature and WIRED.

The Palau de la Música Catalana has invited her to create the graphic image for the 2026-27 season due to the sensitivity of her visual universe and her ability to dialogue with the concept that underpins this year’s programming: peace. The compositions she has conceived for the Palau unfold a colorful and luminous world, in tune with the theme of the season, but also with the ornamental richness inspired by nature of the building’s modernist architecture.

The shapes that run through his works evoke organic elements that recall leaves, plants or wings in motion, figures that seem to emerge and transform within an open and breathable space. This abstract landscape suggests a delicate balance between opposing forces, as if nature itself became a metaphor for a longing for serenity and coexistence. A journey from shadow to light. In this visual universe, peace is not represented literally, but appears as a latent presence: a slow breathing, a harmony that is built from the coexistence of shapes, colors and movements.

The works created by Agnes Jonas for the Palau will accompany the visual communication of the season and will be adapted to the different formats and media of dissemination, transferring this poetic and organic imagery to the campaign as a whole. In addition, a selection of her work will be exhibited at the Palau de la Música Catalana during the autumn.
