‘Variations’ by Rakhmàninov and ‘Italian Capricev by Txaikovski

—Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès & Larsen-Maguire

Details

The Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, under the baton of Catherine Larsen-Maguire, invites us on a musical journey through nostalgia, brilliance, and Mediterranean energy.

The evening will open with Sogno di Stabat Mater by Lera Auerbach, a brief yet intense piece evoking spirituality and mystery. Following this, Artem Kuznetsov, winner of the 2025 Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition, will perform Rachmaninoff's captivating Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, a work brimming with virtuosity, emotion, and contrasts, featuring one of the most beautiful melodies in the classical repertoire. The second half will transport us to the ironic and witty neoclassicism of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, culminating with Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, a vibrant celebration inspired by the colors and popular rhythms of Italy.

An intense and colorful program set in the vibrant atmosphere of the Palau de la Música Catalana.
