Details
Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, popularly known as the Symphony of Destiny, is one of the most iconic works by Ludwig van Beethoven and one of the most influential compositions in the history of music. Premiered in 1808, this piece stands out not only for its expressive power and formal innovation, but also for its symbolic strength—especially in the famous four-note opening that everyone recognizes as “fate knocking at the door.” This symphony, representing an unstoppable struggle and a triumph over adversity, is a perfect reflection of the transformative moment Beethoven was experiencing as a composer, as his deafness began to shape both his personal and professional life.
The program is completed by Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for violin, cello, and piano in C major, Op. 56, featuring the Trio Fortuny.
An unforgettable evening, a celebration of Beethoven’s genius, where destiny and the greatness of his works will be performed in all their splendor.
