The Palau de la Música Catalana is a home of music and poetry. Two art forms unaltered by the passage of time, leaving an imprint, unseen but with a deep scar. That same magic surrounds the movement of the solstices, a relief perceptible through light, temperature, and gesture. With four poetic evenings, we will celebrate the passing of the seasons in the Rehearsal Room of the Orfeó Català. Four events in which we will launch Orphic quests, vibrate with a city that shakes us, dance poetry like someone questioning themselves in front of a mirror, and invoke poets who rise electrified.

With Marta Pessarrodona, Àngels Gregori and Horacio Fumero
Program
This duet featuring Marta Pessarrodona and Àngels Gregori stems from the admiration and mutual respect between teacher and pupil: a poet from Terrassa who has recently received the Gold Medal of the Government of Catalonia, following the Premi d’Honor de les Lletres Catalanes in 2019, and a poet from Oliva who has established herself with Jazz. Both are admirers of Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin, Buenos Aires boleros and jam sessions. They have each built a body of poetry deeply rooted in the places they have lived and travelled through, without ever forgetting their origins, whether in the Vallès or La Safor. Alongside them, Argentinian double bassist Horacio Fumero will bring Gregori’s and Pessarrodona’s poems to life, somewhere between tango and jazz.
