Details
The harpsichord takes centre stage in this new proposal of the Palau Bach cycle, with Francesco Corti as soloist and conductor of Il Pomo d’Oro, one of Europe’s most brilliant early music ensembles. The programme, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Jiří Antonín Benda, offers a multifaceted view of the 18th-century keyboard concerto: from the refinement of Bach’s Concerto No. 3 to the expressivity of his son and Benda’s dramatic vigour. As a finale, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, with its unforgettable harpsichord passage, closes the programme with virtuosity and vitality. An evening of rich timbral colour and instrumental balance, at the Petit Palau.
