Details
The harpsichord takes center stage in this new Palau Bach cycle concert, with Francesco Corti as soloist and conductor of Il Pomo d’Oro, one of the most brilliant ensembles in the European early music scene. The program, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Jiří Antonín Benda, offers a multifaceted perspective on the 18th-century keyboard concerto: from the expressive power of Bach’s Concerto No. 1 to the refined energy of C. P. E. Bach’s Flute Concerto, and the intense drama of Benda’s concerto. As a grand finale, Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, with its unforgettable harpsichord passage, closes the program with virtuosity and vitality. An evening of great timbral richness and instrumental balance at the Petit Palau.
