Anna Fedorova & Concert no. 2 by Chopin

Benefit concert for biomedical research and young musical talent

Details

Anna Fedorova doesn’t play the piano: she makes it breathe
This is how critics describe the young pianist’s performance. In her hands, Chopin’s music breathes, feels, and speaks with a naturalness that transcends technique. This concerto, composed by a young twenty-year-old Chopin, is a work of farewell and revelation: a glance back at his native Poland and, at the same time, a prelude to his artistic journey toward exile and maturity. Fedorova, trained at the Royal College of Music in London, has developed an international career that has taken her to the world’s most prestigious stages and to perform with orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Violinists Daniel Rowland and Floor Le Coultre, violist Dana Zemtsov, cellist Maja Bogdanović, and double bassist Nicholas Schwartz are dynamic, internationally acclaimed soloists whose artistry has brought them to major stages across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Rowland is celebrated for his charismatic virtuosity and adventurous programming; Le Coultre is widely regarded for her vivid communication and versatility as a chamber musician, Zemtsov is praised as one of the leading violists of her generation with a warm, expressive sound; Bogdanović is known for her poetic musicianship and commanding presence as a concerto and recital soloist; and Schwartz has earned recognition as a rare double bass virtuoso with a rich tone and refined musicality. The evening will also feature award winning Ukrainian young talent of the Davidsbündler Music Academy, Ivan Petrenko and his professor, pianist and composer Borys Fedorov. In this special programme, all artists will shine individually as well as collectively, with each of them featured in their own showcase moment, before uniting their distinctive musical voices into an unforgettable and uniquely soloistic ensemble.

A night of emotion
The Davidsbündler Chamber Orchestra will accompany Fedorova in this concert in support of the Davidsbündler Foundation, dedicated to promoting the musical talent of young Ukrainian performers, and FISP, a foundation that drives biomedical research to transform scientific knowledge into real treatment options and which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
