Details

The National Youth Choir of Catalonia (CJNC), composed of singers aged 18 to 28, was created with the goal of offering top-level training opportunities to the country’s finest talents, under the direction of renowned national and international conductors. With over ten years of experience, it has become an ambassador of Catalan choral excellence.

The CJNC gathers periodically throughout the year, ensuring it does not interfere with the regular activities of the choirs. For this summer’s gathering, which will culminate in this concert at the Petit Palau, the CJNC has invited Conxita Garcia, with whom it will present a selection of opera choruses. In the second half, under the direction of its principal conductor, Mireia Barrera, the CJNC will continue its mission of promoting Catalan choral music with works by Casals, Ferrer i Fitó, Gasull, Casablancas, Brotons, and Guinovart.

The CJNC is an initiative of the Catalan Choral Movement and Young Choirs of Catalonia, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Barcelona City Council, and the Ramon Llull Institute.
