Registration period for auditions for all choirs (academic year 2021-2022)
From 3 to 28 May 2021

Pre-registration is open to children born between 2015 and 2006. Each year the group opened Petits 1 for children born in 2015.

The other groups have fewer places. For this reason, in addition to those accepted, a waiting list is made in case of incidents at the end or beginning of the course.

Enrolment
The results of the auditions will be given from Monday, June 14.

Admitted boys and girls will be able to enroll from the communication of the result of the tests until Thursday 15 July 2021.

To enroll, it is binding previously become a member of Orfeo Catala both the singer and a parent or guardian.

COR PETITS
Friday, June 4, 4:30 to 8 p.m.

COR MITJANS and INFANTIL
Friday, June 11 from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Place: Choral School (4th floor Petit Palau building).

 

Content of the auditions

You must bring a learned song of your choice (popular, author's ...).

Boys and girls born between 2006 and 2012 will have to take a musical language level test.

Cor Petits

Requirements
All boys and girls born in the years 2014 and 2015 can apply.

Cor Mitjans

Requirements
All boys and girls born in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013 can apply for a place.
Candidates born in years 2011 and 2012 must do a musical language test.
Those born in the year 2013 need not do this test.

Cor Infantil

Requirements
All boys and girls born between 2006 and 2010 (both inclusive) can apply for a place.
Candidates must have followed musical language studies. There will be a test to see the level

 

Cor Jove and Cor de Noies

From the age of sixteen, applications can be made to the Cor de Noies and the Cor Jove. Registrations are open all year round.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The course begins in mid-September and ends in late June. All classes and rehearsals are held at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Schedules and trials will be subject to the provisions set by the health authorities to deal with the COVID-19 health crisis.

Cor Petits

  • In the classes pupils are introduced to ear training, rhythm and musical expression through song, placing special emphasis on voice training.

  • During the year they give some concerts and performances in Barcelona and other towns, as well as having working weekends. These activities are arranged with sufficient notice through termly calendars and information meetings with the singers’ parents. 
  • Timetable:

    Petits 1 (born in 2015): Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm. Also available on Mondays once a month, to rehearse together with Petits 2 and weeks before concerts.

    Petits 2 (born in 2014): Monday from 6pm to 7pm. Also available on Wednesdays once a month, to rehearse together with Petits 1 and weeks before concerts.

Cor Mitjans and Cor Infantil de l'Orfeó Català

  • Their activity takes place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. These sessions include choir practice and classes in musical language and voice training.
  • During the year they give some concerts and performances in Barcelona and other towns, as well as having working weekends. These activities are arranged with sufficient notice through termly calendars and information meetings with the singers’ parents.

Schedules:

Cor Mitjans:
Essays: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 pm.
Musical Language: Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 7:45 pm.

Cor Infantil:
Essays: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6.30 to 8 pm.
Musical Language: Monday and Wednesday before and / or after the rehearsal, depending on the level and age, between 5:45 to 6:30 pm so there are between 8 to 9 pm.

 

Fees for the school year 2021-2022 (*)
Enrolment (Cor Petits, Mitjans and Infantil) € 52,8/year (to be paid in July)

Cor Petits: €26,4/month (from September to June inclusive)
Cor Mitjans:  €50,6/month (from September to June inclusive)
Cor Infantil : €66/month (from September to June inclusive)
