WORLD PREMIERE OF 'EL CANT DELS OCELLS'
A symphonic apotheosis of dance in the words of Richard Wagner: Beethoven's Seventh. A vibrant work with the OBC and Jörg Widmann at the lectern, in a concert that also includes the participation of the Orfeó Català and Juan de la Rubia in Variations on El cant dels ocells (premiere), a fantasy for choir and organ that Widmann has written commissioned by the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Clarinetist, composer and conductor, Widmann –a guest artist the previous season at the Palau– is currently one of the musicians who best understands and converses with tradition, being one of the most versatile artists of his generation. We will hear from him too
Clarinetist, composer and orchestra director, Widmann –a guest artist the previous season at the Palau– is, currently, one of the musicians who knows best how to understand and converse with tradition, feeling one of the most versatile artists of his sixth generation. We will also hear from him Con brio (2008), a tribute to Beethoven, and his Violin Concerto no. 2 (2018) with Carolin Widmann, her sister, as soloist.
