This chamber opera for two singers by García Demestres, with a libretto by Antonio Carvajal, is a portrait of Mariana Pineda, the liberal from Granada who was executed during the reign of Ferdinand VII because of her revolutionary ideas. The young Argentine soprano Mercedes Gancedo, with an unmistakable voice and a great theatrical talent, who deservedly won the First Palau Award three years ago, is the protagonist of this project that will also feature the work of Alba G. Corral to create the visual design and atmosphere on stage.
