Once more, through the collection of programmes and the Llibre d’Or of the Orfeó Català, the prominence of the musicians that have presented their art at the Palau de la Música Catalana can be verified. This is just another example of the influence that this institution has had on the development of musical life in Barcelona.
During the more than one hundred years of its history, the Palau de la Música Catalana has seen pass over its stage – in a rank comparable to the most emblematic concert halls of European musical culture – practically all of the musical and concert history of the last 100 years: singers, instrumentalists, chamber groups, orchestras, directors and composers. What’s more, its history is highly representative of Catalan music as well as that of universal repertoire. In the last decades, with the functional renovation and expansion of its installations, it has become an auditorium open to more modern and current musical forms.
