General information about family concerts

For 13 seasons now, the Palau de la Música Catalana has offered the Concerts Familiars al Palau (Family Concerts at the Palau) season to offer a shared musical experience to parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, brothers and sisters and so on, creating a shared moment of entertainment in a unique setting.

The family productions at the Palau are designed and created for music to interact with other forms of artistic expression, including dance, theatre, poetry or visual arts, with the aim of fostering curiosity, sensitivity, imagination and creativity among old and young.

The Concerts Familiars del Palau de la Música Catalana begin the season with a series of new productions specially designed for all the family to enjoy music together. The traditional concerts which fill our flagship Art Nouveau auditorium and the Petit Palau we add new production: Big Bang Beethoven conceived from the Education Department of the Palau with musical direction by Eduard Iniesta and choreographic direction of Enrique Cabrera. Another new feature this season is the premiere of the hit show Flamenkat in the Concert Hall, a concert-performance that also excite young and old, has managed cross frontiers .

Also, continuing with the idea of putting on musical workshops for the very young, such as Bim Bom, nadons al Palau (for babies aged up to 12 months) and Zig Zag, passets al Palau (for toddlers from 1 to 2 years old), and Abans de néixer al Palau, a musical workshop for expectant parents in which we take a journey into the sound universe of the baby in order to foster the bond with the unborn child. On the other hand, continue concert-shows premiered in recent seasons: Les Músiques the mon; Cobla 2.0, Swing or Jazz viu Kantikipugui Palau among others ...

Finally, with the aim of offering a new look at the architectural heritage of the Palau, we propose that just before one of the family concerts you take a guided tour specially designed for families with children aged 5 to 10 so that they too can discover and experience the visual features of this unique building, a World Heritage Site.

We invite you then to take part in this unique experience, a catalyst for artistic experiences which will make music into a part of the life of the smallest members of the household.
